Welcome to Tir na nOg, the realm of endless possibilties, amazing insights, and great cake.. LATEST NEWS (14th Dec '11) Hello Tirnanogians! Lots of news for you this time around, some help with your festive shopping, and some input to ask of you!
First things first: 'tis nearly Yule/Christmas/Holidays, and we have some wintry treats for you before the pixies go into hibernation: This weekend - 17th & 18th - we have a Crystal Fair with a sparkling spread of gemstones from Kendal Crystals, plus other crafty offerings, our legendary mulled wine and mince pies, and some great discounts in the shop (some great bargains on fab one-off jewellery pieces). It's the only way to finish your Christmas shopping! Santa will be here on Saturday around 1.30, checking that everyone is still behaving, and adding some general jollity to proceedings, and on Sunday there will be carol singing at 2 and 4pm - feel free to join in! We'll also have a Scavenger Hunt to keep your little elves entertained while you browse, so it couldn't really get much more fun. We'll also be raising funds for LoveOliver (children's cancer charity) - we'll be decorating a Healing Tree with tags of your prayers and wishes for loved ones - come and write a tag and make a little donation to help spread some love and healing. We'll also - finally - be raffling a beautiful original artwork by the lovely Michelle McLachlan Muir, who has very generously donated a gorgeous chakra-themed painting - tickets are £2.50, available online or at the centre, and we'll make the draw on Sunday evening, in time for the lucky winner to collect before Christmas. We'll stay open til around 3pm on Saturday 24th, so do remember to pop in for those last minute things or unusual gifts, or just to take some time out for you. Speaking of time out, the nOg will be closed for an extended winter break this year, and as is the way here, there will be some changes when it re-opens. It's been a busy 7 years, juggling all the different things on offer at the centre, and it feels like it's time to re-focus on the things that inspired the creation of the space in the first place, and to down-size to make some time for personal projects, and for my kids (who some of you will remember back when they were just bumps behind the shop counter!). So the first change I have decided on is that, as much fun as it's been, the cafe won't be re-opening for the forseeable future, although there may still be occasions when cake appears. And some of those occasions are highlighted below: we have a great range of workshops and events with our most popular facilitators next year, have a look at the calendar to see what's on offer. And finally, as those of you who follow us on Facebook may have already seen, I am looking for some help with a couple of projects, and I need feedback and volunteers. For those of you who have firewalked with me before, if you have a story you'd be willing to share (openly or anonymously) for a writing project, I'd love to hear from you. I'm also looking for people who would be interested in the opportunity to take part in a possible TV project including firewalks, so if you've firewalked before but perhaps have a new goal to move towards, or if you've been waiting for the right moment to come and experience the transformational magic of fire for the first time and discover just how limitless your potential is, this might be for you. So if there's any aspect of your life where you'd like to make a change - whether that's letting go of an old pattern or fear, firing up a creative passion, taking a leap of faith in a new venture, or inviting new connections into your life and heart - and think you might enjoy the added intensity of taking that first step towards a new reality on film, please get in touch - info@tirnanog.co.uk We hope to see you all before the 24th to wish you a merry Yule/Christmas and Happy New Year in person, but if you don't pop by before then, we look forward to seeing you in 2012! Happy holidays, Oona and all the pixies (Jacq, Shereen, Aoife, Corinne, Corrie, Lee-Ann, Ruth, Laura & Kate) Facebook - please like us and recommend us to your friends..
twitter - please follow us - who knows where it will lead.. !
