June 2009
Welcome to Tir na nOg, the realm of endless possibilities, amazing insights, and great cake Hello! May was a hectic and productive month here at Tir na nOg. As usual, we kicked it off with our celebrations for the beginning of summer - the Beltane Firewalk and an Open Day the next day (this always seems like a great idea 6 months beforehand when we plan the calendar, and is always a magical weekend, but sometime round about 2pm on the Sunday afternoon, I usually find myself a little dazed and confused due to all the excitement and sleep deprivation. Amusingly, this year, at just about that time, I was being interviewed by Your Radio. I haven't been brave enough to listen to the recording they sent yet...). Since then, there have been a whole host of other events and exciting developments, from lots of new things arriving for the shop (witches, wizards and monk incense burners; brilliant quotes on cards, mugs, candles and canvas; wands ready for you to decorate and finish yourself, and lots more - 4 years of opening boxes, yet still the excitement hasn't faded ..) to a Singing Bowl Concert and yesterday's Return of the Unicorns workshop. And in the middle of it all I even got to take a very quick trip to Glastonbury to see the site for the Goddess Conference firewalk on 29th July - check out the website for more details on the event, it's going to be extraordinary.. And if you can't make it all the way down to Somerset, I have added an extra firewalk date of 8th August, as lots of people had been asking for a summer date here at Tir na nOg.
So what does June have in store? Well, with weather like this, it has to be all about soaking up the warmth, relaxing in nature, and recharging our batteries. And that's just the staff.. But if the glorious sunshine, the vibrant green leaves and the shimmering bluebells on the enchanted woodland walk aren't enough to tempt you for a visit, then imagine enjoying them with a packed lunch from the cafe too - we'll pack up your vittles in a pretty paper bag and you can go find yourself a sunny bench or a shady nook.. You can deepen that sense of well-being with one of the many therapies we have on offer..Massage, Reiki, Reflexology, Kinesiology, Bowen Technique, Feldenkrais Method and Gestalt Psychotherapy And if you want an even better excuse, check out our calendar dates for the month of June:
