About Us

Nikki Mackay BSc, MSc

Nikki Mackay is a medical physicist, a Reiki Master, Sound Healer and a psychic medium.

She has been working with various forms of divination and magical systems since her early teens, and her own experiences in developing her natural abilities, and helping others develop theirs, has resulted in both a sympathetic and skilful reading style that has made her consultations much in demand, and a deep commitment to the ethical application of psychic and mediumistic abilities.

Nikki is also strongly committed to bridging the gap between science and the "new age", as a means to bringing the benefits of energy healing and other ‘alternative’ therapies and practices to all those who might benefit, and her academic and professional background reflects this. She studied Laser Physics & Optoelectronics at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, before spending a year working as a research assistant within the Centre for Ultrasound Engineering at Strathclyde University, looking at the clinical application of ultrasound. She then completed a Masters Degree in Clinical Physics at the University of Glasgow in affiliation with the North Glasgow National Health Service (NHS) Trust & worked in clinical practice for three years, specialising in Neurophysiology within the department of Neurological sciences. While in this position, she spent a year researching the possible effects of Reiki on the Autonomic Nervous system, with Oona participating as the Reiki practitioner. Their work has now been published in the Journal of Complementary & Alternative Therapies. Other research studies are planned.

Oona McFarlane

Oona graduated with a 1st class Honours degree in French Language and Literature from Glasgow University, and is currently completing a postgraduate thesis on French novels focussing on personal and cultural memories of wartime trauma. This study is one part of a personal journey leading to a deep interest in psychology, psychotherapy and healing, which has seen her train as a Reiki Master, Seichim Master, SKHM Facilitator, NLP Practitioner, and Certified Firewalk Instructor. Her interests in energy work, spiritual development, shamanism and magic continue to open new avenues for exploration, and her work with Nikki in developing Tir na nOg and the courses available at the centre is part of an ambition to pursue the highest quality teaching, and to provide the opportunity for healing and growth for as many people as possible in a supportive and empowering space.
